Course description:
This course expands the knowledge of students in the disciplines covered in the Pedodontics I. It deals with the following titles:
- Preventive therapy in primary and early mixed dentition.
- Preventive therapy and Treatment of bad Habits.
- Restorative & endodontic treatments of the primary teeth.
Course Aims:
The aim of the course is the development of skills enabling students to communicate with children and to prepare an environment allowing them to provide quality dental care to their pediatric patients.
Course outcomes:
After completing this clinical course, students should be able to:
- Discuss with parents different approaches for the prevention of dental diseases.
- Know how to apply fluoride and fissure sealant.
- Understand administer local anesthesia.
- Understand use rubber dam properly.
- Know how to apply matrix systems, amalgam and composite resin restorations, and stainless steel crown restorations, as related to primary teeth.
