Endodontics IV - Theoretical TDNT 4148

Course description:

The course deals with traumatic injuries and concentrate on all types of fractures especially longitudinal one, the lectures will cover classifications, diagnostic techniques, urgent and long term management. The course is also concern with indications, types of flaps and the main techniques of endodontic surgery. The bleaching techniques (both external and internal) are included in the course with details of materials, indications, advantages, disadvantages and clinical procedures for each. The endodontic considerations for geriatric patients is detailed such as, age related tooth anatomical changes, treatment difficulties and common systemic diseases that modify endodontic management.

Course Aims:

This course aim the student to handle a specialized and more advanced issues in endodontics such traumatic injuries, surgical endodontic, bleaching techniques and identify special considerations for geriatric patients.

Course outcomes:

By completing this course, the student should be able to:
  • Manage endodontic traumatic injuries.
  • Recognize indications and techniques of surgical endodontics.
  • Understand the techniques and materials of internal and external bleaching.
  • Identify the needs for endodontic management of geriatric patients.
