Course description:

The course is limited to the teaching of complete Dentures.The didactic component is delivered in lectures. It covers the theoretical background for different phases of treatment with Complete Dentures. The syllabus includes diagnosis, treatment planning, treatment procedures, and follow-up of the treatment. The lectures focus on the basic concepts, principles, indications, and limitations of these clinical procedures.Students will be reinforced and enriched in his/her previous experiences with the didactic and clinical disciplines of Removable Prosthodontic Sciences. The students will be exposed to a finer insight into the examination, diagnosis, treatment planning and technical procedures in the art & science of Prosthodontics, while treating patients.

Course outcomes:

The student should acquire a knowledge and understanding of:
  • History Taking, Examination, Prognosis and Treatment Planning in Complete Denture Construction.
  • Impression Making in Completely Edentulous Cases.
  • Mandibular movement.
  • Recording jaw relations.
  • Evaluation of the trial dentures base (Try-in stage).
  • Dental insertion.
  • Complaints About Complete Dentures.
  • Relining ,Rebasing and Resilient lining.
