Course description:

Identify preliminary steps before different dental procedures (chair position, moisture isolation and infection control), illustrate how to properly examine, diagnose and design a treatment plan for different dental problems, discuss gingival care, and investigate items of selection of restorative materials.

Course Aims:

The course aims to provide the students with the knowledge and explore restorative principles in greater depth needed to deal with dental patient clinically.

Course outcomes:

After completing the course, students should be able to know and discuss:
  • Patient reception and operating positions.
  • Diagnosis and Patient assessment. 
  • Sterilization and infection control.
  • Isolation of operative field.
  • Care of gingival tissues.
  • Selection of restorative materials.
  • Temporary restorations.
