Course description:
The course is a continuation fortheclinical Fixed Prosthodontics IV, In this course the clinical part of modern evidenced based prosthetic dentistry are introduced. Agreat emphasize is put on comprehensive treatment planning and the students will learn step by step how tooth- and implant-supported fixed dental prostheses are made. This will equip student with practical skills to treat and manage different advanced clinical cases.
Course Aims:
The course aims to provide a framework for the students to transfer the theoretical into clinical applications, reinforcing the concepts learned in previous fixed prosthodontics courses.
Course outcomes:
By successful completion of this course, The students should be able to provide sound judgments independent of the instructor and should be able to treat patients in a multidisciplinary approach. Also, the students are expected to have gained an adequate practical skills in the following areas:
- History taking and a detailed clinical examination.
- Diagnosis, examination and put treatment planning for each case with course supervisior.
- Radiographic x –ray taking (perapical and panoramic).
- Repair of crown and bridge restoration
- Secondary impression taking.
- Delivery of crown and fixed bridge (cementation).
- Removal of fixed prosthesis and Care and maintenance of crown and bridge following cementation.
- Esthetic bonding (laminate veneers)
- Resin bonded retainers(adhesive bridges).
- Implants supported fixed prosthesis, Failure of fixed prosthesis.
