Course description:

This course covers the practical application of the theoretical knowledge learned in clinical Pedodontics 1. This course deals with the following titles:  
Management of children at dental clinic, Teaching and motivation of parents and children in proper brushing technique according to their age, Formulation of a treatment plan for this age group Restorative and endodontic treatments of the primary teeth.

Course Aims:

The aim of the course is the development of psychomotor skills of the students to provide quality dental care to their pediatric patients.

Course outcomes:

After completing this clinical course, the students should be able to: 
  • Discuss and reinforce preventive approaches with children and parents.
  • Formulate a proper dental treatment plan for this specific age group.
  • Provide dental care for children in the clinic with confidence and professionalism.
  • Understand the basic morphologic applications of cavity preparation in primary teeth and perform the clinical procedures commonly rendered to the children.
  • Manage to give local anesthesia to children.
  • Restore primary teeth using the different restorative materials.
  • Properly use the rubber dam for isolation during the dental procedure.
  • Perform different clinical procedures available for pulp therapy.
