Course description:

This course focus on behavior management with child, diagnosis and prevention. Intraoral Examination of Children and differentiation between different tooth types and dentitions are trained. Eruption sequence of primary teeth, first Molar and anterior teeth are learned on hand of illustrations and clinical examination of children.Oral Hygiene instructions and techniques are trained with the children in this age group. 

Course Aims:

The aim of the course is the development of skills enabling students to communicate with children and to prepare an environment allowing them to provide quality dental care to their pediatric patients.

Course outcomes:

After completing this course, students should be able to:
  • Differentiate between primary and permanent teeth.
  • Work with children of this age group.
  • Apply and evaluate different behavior modification techniques.
  • Perform oral hygiene instruction and techniques.
  • Acquire enough psychomotor skills to be able to treat children in the clinic without any reservations.
