Course description:

The clinical course introduces the student to the clinical application of skills acquired in the preclinical course. It also presents more advanced techniques and treatment planning for advanced and complex fixed prosthodontic needs as well as the principles of crown and bridge in implant dentistry. 

Course Aims:

The course provides the students with skills to describe and apply treatment planning and mangement different clinical cases with different type of design and preparation using more advanced techniques.

Course outcomes:

By successful completion of this course, the students are expected to have gained an adequate practical skills in the following areas:
  • History taking and a detailed clinical examination.
  • Diagnosis, examination and put treatment planning for each case with course director.
  • Primary impression taking for patient.
  • Radiographic x –ray taking (per-apical and panoramic).
  • Preparation of (8) abutment preparation as a single crown and fixed bridge with different design. 
  • Secondary impression taking. 
  • Recording jaw relation.
  • Fabrication temporary crown and temporary bridge for each case.
  • Try- in step for crown and fixed bridge.
  • Delivery of crown and fixed bridge (cementation).
  • Follow up.
  • Fabrication of (2) ready-made post.
