Removable Prosthodontics III - Clinical PDNT 4145

Course description:

This course builds on technical skills developed in Theoretical Removable prosthodontics IIIand applies them to patient care in the clinical setting. This course applies the foundation knowledge learned in the prosthodontic preclinical curriculum by introducing the beginning student to the restoration and replacement of missing teeth by prosthodontic techniques. The syllabus includes diagnosis, treatment planning, treatment procedures, and follow-up of the treatment. The clinical component comprises of clinical sessions held and utilized to practice common clinical procedures for patients examination, motivation, and treatment with complete dentures.      

Course Aims:

The course provides the students with practical skills for better examination, diagnosis, treatment planning and technical procedures in the art & science of prosthodontics, while treating patients. 

Course outcomes:

After completing the course, students should be able to  demonstrate:
  • History taking ,examination ,diagnosis & primary impression.
  • Final impression taking.
  • Recording jaw relation.
  • Try in of complete denture.
  • Delivery of complete denture.
  • Follow up.
  • Requirement: one case of complete denture.
