Operative Dentistry IV - Clinical PDNT 4144

Course description:

The course is complementary for the theoretical course in current information on advanced restorative dentistry clinical procedures and materials. Emphasis will be given to diagnosis, treatment planning and treatment of the complex restorative dentistry patient. The format of the course will be clinical case presentation. The techniques presented will build upon previously developed restorative theoretical  and clinical knowledge.

Course Aims:

The course aims to provide  student with practical skills to diagnose, treat and prevent of diseases or trauma to teeth in  different advanced clinical cases.

Course outcomes:

After completing this course, students should be able to:
  • Apply different chair positions and Prepare of bracket table.
  • Apply of infection control rules and proper use of anesthesia.
  • Prepare of cavities of different classes.
  • Apply of  temporary restoration. 
  • Apply of permanent restoration (direct or indirect).
  • Develop  of patient/dentist ethical relation.
  • Treat different clinical cases including mutilated tooth. 
  • Apply restorative materials with necessary instrumentations.
  • Differentiate between different types of pins.
  • Assess different types of restoration failure and its management.
