Operative Dentistry I - preclinical PDNT 3127

Course description:

The course is a complementary tooperative dentistry II theoretical course, and students will be responsible for building upon and practice the information and knowledge   learned in that course by using skills to prepare cavities of different classes, apply of different restorative materials with necessary instrumentation, and prepare cavities for inlays.

Course Aims:

The aim of the Operative Dentistry II Pre-Clinical course is to apply the information acquired in theoretical course to hand skills developed through tooth preparation and the fabrication of indirect restorations.

Course outcomes:

After completing this course, students should be able to:
  • Discuss of manipulative steps of amalgam.
  • Do class I amalgam restoration.
  • Prepare class I cavities and application of amalgam.
  • DoMatrix band application.
  • Do class II amalgam restoration.
  • Discuss of manipulative steps of composite.
  • Do class III cavity preparation and restoration with resin composite.
  • Prepare class IV cavities and application of resin composite.
  • Prepare class V cavities and application of resin composite.
  • Prepare cavities for inlays.
