Dental Materials II - Practical PDNT 2122

Course description:

This course is meant to teach the student of dentistry aspects of materials science necessary to enable him/her to understand the manipulated and application of different materials direct and indirect restorative materials, dental cement materials, dental casting materials, dental cement materials and tissue condition materials.

Course Aims:

The course aims to provide students the opportunity to apply their knowledge through clinical and laboratory procedures.

Course outcomes:

  • Demonstrate the use, storage and care of dental materials and dental equipment in the dental office and the dental laboratory.
  • Have an understanding of how to correctly:
    • Manipulate with acrylic materials (heat and chemical curing) by making palatal plate.
    • Manipulate with dental amalgam.
    • Manipulate with dental composite.
    • Handle with different types of cement and ceramic.
    • Use direct aesthetics restorative materials.
    • Handle tissue conditioners materials.
