Course description:

This course aims to give students a practical view on theoretical subjects of therapeutic nutrition, to be familiar with topics learned in therapeutic nutrition 1,  during this field visits will be conducted to hospitals and health centers working in nutrition.  

Course Aims:

  • To get experience in nutrition assessment techniques and interventions.
  • To develop practical skills of the students in the field of  therapeutic nutrition.
  • To be familiar with Alternative feeding routes including eternal & parenteral feeding.
  • To get to know how to use  feeding tubes in practical.
  • To get to know how to select the access sites for intravenous feedings.

Course outcomes:

After completing this course, the student should be able to:
  • Apply various methods and techniques used for nutrition support of the  hospitalized patients.
  • Meet nutritional needs of the clients.
  • Manage any complications occurring to the patients during nutrition support.
