Applied Statistics MGNE 2101

Course description:

The module discusses the statistical Inference with its two parts the statistical estimation and testing hypotheses about the parameters of the population, such as the Mean and the variance the difference between the averages and the difference between two proportions, analysis of variance, theory of correlation and simple  regression models, problems related to regression models, and  used for statistical program SPSS.

Course Aims:

  • Explain theory of statistical estimation applications.
  • Explain Sampling and Sampling Distributions
  • Explain testing hypotheses.
  • Explain statistical inference
  • Design relationships between variables, using analysis of variance and analysis of regression.
  • Introduction to use non- parametric tests.

Course outcomes:

Upon completion of this course, the student will have reliably demonstrated the ability to:
  • Knowledge, understanding and apply
  • Use testing hypotheses methods.
  • Using analysis of variance.
  • Use regression analysis.
  • Use non- parametric tests.
  • Apply practical skills by using spss program.
