Course description:
The course provides a comprehensive knowledge of medical devices classification and the basic medical background for several diagnostic equipment.
introduce students to the principles and application of Medical Diagnostic Systems in medical/clinical environments
Brief discussions on medical device internal structure and block diagram for many medical diagnostic systems will provided to the students.
A range of Medical Diagnostic Systems topics will be introduced and discussed in terms of the basic principles of measurement and operation
Course Aims:
- To understand the principal classes of biomedical equipment and their functionalities in
- Modern medical science .
- To study in detail about system description of diagnostic equipment.
- To provide knowledge of fundamental technical principles used by biomedical Diagnostic equipment
- To study about Diagnostic of lab equipment, and patient monitoring equipment.
Course outcomes:
Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
- Explain fundamental concepts and operation of medical diagnostic equipment presented throughout the course.
- The students will be familiar with the various types of biomedical diagnostic instruments and understand the functioning of them.
- The students will be capable Explain and discuss measurement of Cardiovascular and Respiratory system parameters.
- Describe the measurement techniques used to determine the vital parameters of diagnostic importance.
- To Explain building blocks of circuit involved in each equipment & systems
- Understand the characteristics of different diagnostic systems includes ECG and Patient monitoring Equipment, Clinical Laboratory equipment, Endoscopy System, Ophthalmic equipment, and Hearing analysis and diagnosis equipment.
