- Definition of Medical Instrumentation, Generalized Medical Instrumentation System,
- Signal Conditioning, BI Operational Modes,
- Measurement Constraints,
- Measurement Input Sources, Design Criteria and Process for biomedical instruments,
- Medical sensors: Bio-potential electrodes, Bio-chemical sensors, Pressure sensor, Conductivity sensor, Temperature sensor, Flow sensor, Ultrasonic sensor.
- Application for medical sensor in BME.
Course Aims:
By the completion of the course the student should be able to:
- Describe techniques used to display, process, characterize, and analyze bio signals.
- Develop the ability of self-learning.
- Choose sensors and design instruments to monitor a physical phenomenon
- Recognize the principles of electrical safety and the potential hazards.
