Course description:

In this course, students are expected to use the four   language skills  to communicate successfully in life situations. Moreover, they should develop good command of   listening and reading  comprehension, speaking fluency  and writing paragraphs, letters, personal information sheets.

Course Aims:

  • Use the four language skills.
  • Communicate successfully in life situations.
  • Develop good command of listening.
  • Develop reading comprehension.
  • Develop speaking fluency.
  • Develop writing paragraphs and letters.

Course outcomes:

By the end of this course, students are expected to achieve a plausible level of the four skills as  follows:
  • Achieve a reasonable level of listening  comprehension.
  • Speaking: express themselves meaningfully  in authentic life situations,  practice role plays, dialoges, and summarizing oral and written texts orally.
  • Reading / Utilizing reading  strategies to analyze texts, to recognize cpmpound words,  word formation; suffixes and preffixes , and to guess meaning of words in context.
  • Writing a nd  Grammar.
  • To use tenses and aspects, verb patterns, question foms, functions of  modals, use of adjectives and adverbs appropriately. 
  • They will be able to  write letters , use of conjunctions, writing  post cards and paragraph.
