Course description:

In this course students  are expected to develop basic English vocabulary and grammatical structures so that they can successfully communicate, students  are expected to develop basic Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing skills which enable them to be successful in future courses.

Course Aims:

  • Develope basic English vocabulary and grammatical structure.
  • Develop basic Listening and speaking skills.
  • Develop Reading skills.
  • Develop writing skills.

Course outcomes:

By the end of this course, students are expected to:
  • Listening: Students will be able to listen and  to comprehend English from native speakers via their teacher and other media. They will also listen to English spoken by their peers. They will be able to focus their attention on the speaker’s message in order to comprehend and produce a meaningful response with focus on every day English.
  • Speaking: Students will be able to practice speaking in structured conversations with their peers. In addition, they will present information to the class using newly acquired English skills with focus on every day English.
  • Reading: Students will read a variety of texts and use various strategies to help them comprehend a text in their foreign language. They practice the use of new vocabulary and phrases.
  • Writing:  Students will be able to practice writing simple and compound sentence using articles ,tenses ,nouns, pronouns possessive and demonstrative adjectives and prepositions.
