Course description:
This course designed to prepare the student to work in the community settings such as primary care centers, mother & child health centers, schools and other work settings. This course provides a conceptual foundation for nursing that recognize the community as client in society. The course examines socioeconomic, environmental, epidemiological, and the impact of health beliefs and practices on health promotion and protection in communities and society. In the Palestinian community, adequate primary health care is essential to meet community health care needs such as health promotion; disease prevention, health maintenance, care of chronic diseases are immediate concerns of the Palestinian people. Other topics include reproductive health and family planning, mother and child health, communicable diseases, school health, home visits, substance abuse, care of older people and health care delivery system.
