Course description:

This course allowing the student to practice the skills and knowledge needed to provide adequate comprehensive nursing care of the adult patients. Students supposed to utilize the theoretical knowledge and apply it into practice in providing nursing care for clients with musculoskeletal disorders, urinary system diseases, renal diseases, cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, and common eye diseases. Furthermore, students are required to implement and develop the skills of evaluating nursing care plans constructed for clients.

Course Aims:

This course provides opportunities to develop student's clinical skills and competencies necessary to meet the needs of individuals throughout the lifespan in a safe, legal, and ethical manner using the nursing process. Emphasis is placed on providing care to individuals with musculoskeletal, urinary system, renal diseases, cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, patient with cancerand common eye diseases.

Course outcomes:

At the end of this course, the student will be able to:
  • Considerate the nursing implications of the various procedures used for musculoskeletal disorders.
  • Can deal with patient acute myocardial infarction and angina pectoris.
  • Able to deal with patient of urinary system and providing the appropriate intervention.
  • Identify the client health actual and potential health problems.
  • Oriented to hospitalized hemodialized patients and hemodialysis department.
  • Deal with patient of common eye disorders, diagnostic evaluation and management.
  • Manage patients with common neurological disorders.
  • Understand the nature of cancer, types, clinical manifestation, complication, methods of diagnosis and treatment modalities.
  • Recognize client health problems and apply the nursing process as a framework for care the patient with cancer, surgery and complications.
  • Identify the nursing care used for a patient after a prostatectomy operation.
