Course description:

This course designed to teach students to identify and eliminate potentially hazardous conditions in their environment, recognize emergencies and make appropriate decisions for first aid care.In addition, skills needed to respond to respiratory and cardiac emergencies, to reduce pain, and to minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until professional help arrives. 

Course Aims:

The goal of this course  to teach the students the basics of emergency first aid and give basic information about first aid, calling for help and giving life-saving first aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), enabling the students how to provide first aid to different emergency situation like wounds, burns, fractures, drawing ,chocking, bleeding, poisoning, shocks and bites.

Course outcomes:

The student will be able to: 
  • Know the concept of first aid and purposes
  • Understand the role of the first aider including reference to the use of available equipmentand the need for recording incidents and actions.
  • Understand the techniques of CPR
  • Providing first aid to different wounds, bleeding fracture, shock, poisoning burns, bites, and choking...etc.
