Upon completion of this course, student will be able to:
- Describe the role of the nurse in health promotion
- Utilize the nursing process in giving the holistic nursing care
- giving preoperative nursing measures that decrease the risk for infection & other postoperative complications
- can do patient preparation, teaching and follow up care appropriate for patients having diagnostic testing of the gastrointestinal tract
- Use the nursing process for care of patients with Endocrine disorders.
- Describe the functions of hormones secreted by each of the endocrine glands
- Identify local resources available to the nurse when seeking information about infectious diseases.
- Use the nursing process for care of patients with infectious disease.
- Identify the nursing implications of the various procedures used for diagnostic assessment of respiratory function.
- Develop plan of care for the patient receiving blood or blood component therapy.
- Provide the patient with complete instruction on discharge for home consideration
