Course description:

Rehabilitation concepts, Evaluation of existing structures: strength, durability and deficiencies, destructive and non-destructive testing, damaged structures and deterioration mechanisms, materials, criteria and techniques for repairing and strengthening of concrete structures. 

Course Aims:

The course is directed to cover the methods of assessing the current and future performance of the structure, the diagnosis stages of the structure, survey of structure conditions, remedy: repairing materials, strategies and techniques to upgrade the structure performance.

Course outcomes:

Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
  •  On successful completion of this course a student will be able to Identify defects in a range of building types from different periods, asses the likely cause and develop solutions. Moreover, students will be able to evaluate damages of the existing structures and to deal with techniques and materials of rehabilitation and repairs.
