Course description:

The course covers the etiology, principle diagnostic features, and main characteristics of selected diseases, e.g., of the cardiovascular system, the respiratory tract, the central nervous system and other important organ systems of the body. 

Course Aims:

  • The course aims to give the student basic pathology knowledge about common diseases, their cause, development & clinical features.
  • The course enables the student to understand how tissues appear under the microscope and to describe the major tissues and cells that comprise the organs of the body. 
  • To relate the functions of those tissues and cells to their structures and to understand how the main functions of cells relate to subcellular structure and their molecular signaling pathways
  • Discuss management principles including financial and human resources.

Course outcomes:

Upon successful completion of this course students will be aشble to:  
  • Recall the basic principles of pharmaceutical, medical, social, behavioral, management, health & environmental sciences as well as pharmacy practice.
  • Discuss regulatory affairs, pharmacy laws and ethics of healthcare and pharmacy profession.
  • Recognize the principles of drug promotion, sales and marketing, business administration, accounting and pharmacoeconomics.
