Applied Mathematics BIPH 1307

Course description:

The course includes mathematical fundamentals as basics of calculus, matrix algebra and differential equations, concepts of ratio and proportion, units and conversions, linear equations in two variables, inequalities, graphical, numerical and statistical methods, and techniques in data processing. 

Course Aims:

The aim of this course is to equip students with the basic mathematics concepts and techniques required in many scientific disciplines, notably pharmacy. 


Course outcomes:

Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: 
  • Understand various mathematical rules 
  • Understand mathematical properties of a function to a real world phenomenon
  • Use various tools to organize raw data 
  • Compute variability measures and correlations for a given data 
  • Know statistical techniques to test a given hypothesis.
