Course description:
This theoretical part of the course provide the student with the required knowledge related to dental implantology that should cover the following topics:
Peri-implantation biologic and functional considerations, Implant components,
Preoperative assessment and treatment planning (Medical history, medical risk assessment, dental history, diagnostic models, diagnostic imaging, intraoral examination), Prosthetic considerations in implant treatment planning, Surgical techniques (implant site exposure, implant placement), Post-operative management, Soft and hard tissue management and grafting and Implant prosthetic options.
The practical part of the course includes clinical application of principles acquired during the theoretical part, including proper patient selection, and detailed preoperative assessment. (Clinical, radiographic, study models), it also includes performance of the surgical steps of delayed/ late impalntology (2- Stage technique) starting from surgical incisions, raising full thickness flap, osteotomy preparation, fixture insertion and closure.
