Course description:

This course is designed to promote an understanding of the following: fundamentals of occlusion; clinical application of occlusion principles in restorative dentistry; principles and protocols of implants loading; occlusion examination, registration, transfer and analysis; occlusion related disorders; and diagnosis and management.

Course Aims:

The course aims to provide students with knowledge including an understanding of ideal occlusion form and function and management.

Course outcomes:

On completion of the course, students should  be able to:
  • Evaluate the fundamental principles that underpin sound occlusal practice.
  • Systematically diagnose occlusal dysfunction and treatment plan complex occlusal restorative cases. 
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of a semi adjustable articulator. 
  • Proficiently manage the restorative treatment of patients with occlusal problems.
  • Comprehensively understand the occlusion on the implant patients.
