Oral Pathology II BDNT 4251

Course description:

This course is a continouation for oral pathology 1 and it provides the students with detailed knowledge on the diagnosis and treatment of different dental and systemic pathologies.

Course Aims:

The course aims to provide the students  in the management protocols of dental and systemic abnormalities and methods of diagnosis and treatment.

Course outcomes:

Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
  • Develop a systematic approach to evaluating lesions of the oral cavity.
  • Describe the more common oral manifestations of systemic diseases.
  • Recognize clinical patterns of intraoral premalignant lesions and squamous cell carcinoma.
  • Differentiate between cold sores and canker sores and use contemporary methods to manage.
  • Recognize and manage erosive lichen planus, erythema multiforme, pemphigus, and pemphigoid.
  • Develop a differential diagnosis for radiolucent and radiopaque lesions.
