Design Graphics ARCH 2305

Course description:

This course is an introduction to architectural design courses and covres teach a student how to draw and use of architectural symbols to express the idea and show the architectural drawings in different methods with drawing scale.Study how to draw external and internal perspective, and highlight visualization techniques and simulations.Link between the visual training and the freehand sketch courses, wherethe students' sense of relationship and proportionality are improved. Learn about the various methods of architectural presentation and applied to the exercises that the student is preparing in this course.

Course Aims:

This course aims to:
  • Teaching different methods of architectural presntation using engineering expression methods, measurements and dimensions in the processing of the plans, facades (elevations) and sections, as well as making models. In addition to showing a small integrated project at the end of the course.
  • Giving students the ability to display architectural concepts and demonstrate different design projects by architectural drawing.

Course outcomes:

The student upon completion of his study to this course is able to:
  • Understand and read architectural diagrams, elements and terms of architectural drawing.
  • Acquire the skills of expressing architectural ideas and mastering the techniques of shadows and hatching in the architectural drawing.
  • Knowledge of the architectural design of a three-dimensional hologram, either by drawing the prism or by practically concretisation it with cardboard/wood.
